I find the best way to explore a country is to just hop in a car and drive.  Our plan was to head to the Matakana Farmer's market (which was incredible!) but then we got side tracked on our drive home and ended up wine tasting, air rifle shooting, and checking out the historic rural pub in Puhoi.  Love the unexpected adventures that a saturday afternoon can take you...
