road trippin to the coromandel

22:43

Baches are an iconic part of New Zealand culture and are a big reason why I feel in love with the atmosphere and way of life here. I have noticed that people really cherish a balanced lifestyle and while they work hard they make it a top priority to also find time for family/friends and soaking up the amazing scenery. You can find these perfect holiday homes all over the country situated by the sea, river, lake or forest. We rented the most charming bach located in an amazing location just a 5 min kayak down the estuary to northern end of Whangapoua Beach where you can follow the rocky foreshore around to the infamous New Chums Beach.  New Chums beach was voted one of the top ten beaches worldwide and it just gorgeous.  It is a bit of a trek to get there, only accessible by foot or boat however this secluded/untouched beach is so worth the effort...

my favorite part of the road trip are these winding roads along the coast
stopping off for some photos is a must (especially during sunsets)
Stopped off at the Coromandel Town for dins...
... loved how they kept the victorian style architecture to preserve those early gold-mining era vibes

such a peaceful morning
excellent eggs benny in Whitianga (30 min drive from our bach)

beautiful white sand
starting the journey over to the secluded new chums beach...

....a little bit of rock jumping...
 ....a little bit of jungle...
....and we made it to new chums beach!
loved these flowers outside of our bach
Found a shell that fit so perfectly as a ring
Such a cool pizza/beer spot by Matarangi
